Profusion Beauty Wallet Swatches/Review

Hello there! Today I'm going to show you a product I picked up last October: the Profusion Beauty Wallet(the green one). It was quite a steal....$2.99 for 25 silky, pigmented eyeshadows! Also, the packaging is pretty darn cute! I only wish that I could have picked up the other beauty wallets. There was a purple cased one and a pink one with different eye shadow colors. I picked up the green one because it was the only beauty wallet left in my local Walgreens.

I'd like to start out by saying, there are several repeated colors in this palette, which is kind of disappointing. There are 5 copper shades that are pretty similar. They have slightly different tones in the them, but I really don't need 5 of the same color! Also, there are 7 different shades of green, which I guess should be expected since the shadows are housed in a shimmery green case!
These actally came with a numbered diagram on the plastic cover, but I threw that away! So I have no numbers to make this easier....I have the pictures going horizontally, but in the palette they are vertical. Sorry to make everything so complicated! LOL

Bring on the swatches!! **Click pictures to enlarge them!**
Underneath the swatches, I described the colors the best I could.

1st Row(going down):
Rusted Copper
Pale Champagne
Muddy Green
Deep Blue
Pale Pink
2nd Row:
Mossy Green
Midnight Blue
Pale Turquoise
Orange Copper
Silver
3rd Row:
Copper Red
Golden Yellow
Burnt Orange
Mossy Green
Murky Brown
4th Row:
Dark Brown
Army Green
Light Green
Light Copper Orange
Dark Green
5th Row:
Light Silver
Copper Orange
Deep Green
Light Muddy Brown
Bronze Copper

My favorite row is Row 3! The colors in row 3 just look so much like Autumn, my favorite season!
All of these shadows are silky smooth. They can be a bit chalky when you build up the color, but just dust it off and you'll be fine.

Here are the duplicate color swatches:

As you can see, there are slight differences in the copper and green duplicates. However, I would have preferred some different colors.
Look at how silky these come off on your fingers with just one swipe:
Great pigmentation & so soft! However, some shades need to be built up for intensity.

I hope you enjoyed these swatches! I honestly don't know if you can still get your hands on these. But Profusion palettes can be found in some stores like Ross or TJ Maxx. This palette was found in Walgreens, but I haven't found them lately. This was purchased back in 2010! So just keep your eye out for palettes like these where ever you shop!

Have a lovely day!

EOTD: Tropical Sunset Smoothie Eyes

Hello there! I was inspired to do an eye look that juicystar07 did on her youtube channel. She was inspired by some European picture, and she inspired me! LOL This is a pretty colorful look, but I toned it down a bit so it is pretty wearable. You could wear this to a party, dinner, or just anytime you want! The eyeshadow look is very similar to my Summer Sunflower Eyes ETOD. It was pretty simple to do, and I used all drugstore products. So, I'm just going to jump right into it! =)
*** Click images to enlarge for better detail!!!!!!***

Step 1:
Apply a shimmery base all over your lids & crease. I used the Wet N Wild Idol Eyes Cream Pencil in Pixi.

Step 2:
Take a light shimmery gold shade and dust it over the inner part of your lid.

Step 3:
Take a yellow shadow and place it halfway on your lid.

Step 4:
Apply an orange color on the outer half of your lid. Also, take a hot pink color to the outer corner of your crease/lid. In the pictures, the hot pink doesn't show up so great. You can intensify the pink if you wish, but I toned down the pink. Make sure you've been blending all the colors together along the way, but not blending too much. That would make the colors look too muddy.

Step 5:
Take a purple eyeliner pencil as a base for the gel liner. This will help intensify the purple liner. Use a purple/eggplant/lavender color gel eyeliner and line your upper lash line. I used the Physician's Formula Gel Liner for Brown Eyes, and I used the purple shade. I extended the line past my lid, but I did not wing it. Then top off the liner with a purple eyeshadow.

Step 6:
Take a turquoise eyeliner and apply it to your lower lashline and waterline. I used the Wet N Wild Color Icon Turquoise pencil.

Step 7:
Then take a navy eyeliner and top the turquoise liner with it. I used the Elf Midnight Pencil. This will make a nice blue color. I didn't like the turquoise by itself, or the navy by itself. So I combined them!

Step 8:
Now, just curl your lashes & apply mascara! I first used the Rimmel Max Volume Flash Mascara on my upper lashes. Then I took the Estee Lauder Double Wear Zero Smudge mascara and applied to my top and bottom lashes.

Now you're finished! Here's a bunch of pictures of my Tropical Sunset Smoothie Eyes! Click on the pictures to enlarge them! =)

Here are the products that I used to create this look!
Color Workshop Palette(pink, gold, and orange shadow), Revlon Sunrise Sunset Quad(purple & yellow shadow), L.A. Colors Trendy Palette(yellow shadow), Rimmel Max Volume Flash Mascara, Estee Lauder Double Wear sample mascara, Revlon lash curler, Physician's Formula Gel Liner for Brown eyes(purple shade), Wet N Wild Color Icon pencils in Amethyst and Turquoise, Elf Eyeliner in Midnight, and Wet N Wild Idol Eyes Cream Pencil in Pixi.

I hope you enjoyed this look! Feel free to tweek it, tone it down, intensify it, or do whatever you want! I hope you all have a lovely day!

=)

My Makeup Collection: Face

Hello there! I thought that I'd share my tiny makeup collection with you all! I feel like I have an essential amount of makeup, but I'd love to add to it! I'm going to do separate posts for each category: Face, Eyes, Lips, and Brushes. Keep in mind, I've owned previous products, this is just what I have at the moment! I will sort of do a mini review of each product. So, let's do this!!! Don't forget to click on images to enlarge them & see details! =)

Foundation, Concealer, & Powder:

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation in 103 True Ivory. This the only liquid foundation I've ever used in my life! I've always used powders until this baby came into my life! I love it because it is perfect for my dry skin. I love that it has minerals in it. It blends nicely into my skin. The color I have is slightly off, but I can work with it. This foundation really does last all day for me! I also love the cheap price tag of only about $6 at Walmart!
Maybelline Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Powder Foundation in Natural Ivory Light 3. This is my second container of this product. I really enjoy it! However, the color I have now is so orange on me, and it's summertime! I'm going to have to go back to the first shade I purchased, which I think is one shade lighter than this one. I like this product because it provides great coverage, is fast to apply, and I love minerals!

Maybelline Dream Mousse Concealer in Ivory Light 2-3.5. This is the only concealer I've ever owned! If you can't tell, I'm not very big on face products. hehe. I love the mousse texture of this product, and how well it covers under eye problems. But this shade is far too light for my skin. Also, I'm pretty positive this product is being discontinued, so I need to find a new concealer!

Rimel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in 001 Transparent. I bought this powder to set my liquid foudation, and I think it does a pretty good job. It claims to minimize the appearance of pores, and I think it actually does. A few things that might turn you away from this product: powdery scent & cheap packaging.

Elf Translucent Mattifying Powder. This is a much better setting powder than the Rimmel Stay Matte. I already reviewed this in my ELF Collection post. But I highly recommend this powder. I just wish that the whole pan was full of powder. The sponge is pretty pointless.

Blush & Bronzer:

Milani Baked Blush in 04 Terra Sole. I actually received this blush from a giveaway I entered on the Milani Facebook fan page. The first 25,000 that entered all won a free full sized sample of this blush. I'll be doing a full review on this blush in the next few days. The blush houses a mirror and brush underneath the actual product. This blush is very powdery when you dip your brush in, but it is so pigmented and blends well. The color is a little too dark for me, but I find ways to wear it.

NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in 720A Sunny. This is a nice matte bronzer that won't hurt your wallet. I like the cute sun pattern embedded in the bronzer, but the compact is so cheap and could break easily during travel. This color is a tad too orange for my skin, but it still gives a nice sun-kissed look.

Covergirl Cheekers Blush in Rock N' Rose. This is a nice rosey blush that I love to wear in the colder months. It is pretty sheer, but I like that I can build this color up if I want. It isn't quite as shimmery as it looks in the picture. It has a pretty strong perfume scent to it, so if that bothers you, don't get it!

NYC Blushable Creme Stick in 644U Plaza Pink. This is a great cream blush for the summertime. It is in a twist up stick form, like a jumbo lip balm. You get a decent amount of product, and a little seriously goes a long way! It is so creamy and blends out so nicely! The color is a nice peachy pink shade.

Hard Candy Fox In a Box Blush in Hot Flash. As soon as I saw these in my Walmart, I had to get one! I kind of wish I had picked out a different, less pigmented one! As you can see, this blush is bright! The 2 muted colors help to tone down the bright hot pink colors, but it is still so flashy on my cheeks. I think I'll pick up another one of these blushes, but a more natural one!!

Elf Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder in Blushed/Bronzed. I already reviewed this product in my Elf Collection post. But this is a great product to own, and it's only $3! The blush is a pretty peachy, pink color, reminds me of the NYC Creme Stick in Plaza Pink. The bronzer is a deep bronzy brown. Both have shimmer in them, but it's not crazy shimmery.

Clinique Soft-Pressed Powder Blusher in Pink Blush & True Bronze Pressed Powder Bronzer in Sunkissed. This came as a sample with a gift of purchase. The blush is pretty sheer and hardly shows up. It gives a nice, sheer glow to the face. I really like the bronzer side. It gives a nice, tan glow to my face.

That's all the face cosmetics I own currently! I hope you liked this post and maybe found it helpful in some way! =)

NOTD: Revlon Make Mine Mango

Hello there! Today I have a nail polish that is perfect for the summer. I much prefer this shade on my toes, but I have some pictures of them on my fingernails. I just don't think it looks flattering on my nails, but it is a very pretty color! I actually took it off my fingernails as soon as I finished taking the pictures. But my toes are still mango-y, mangoish, mangonese....you get the point! ;)

Like most Revlon nail polishes, this was a bit streaky with the 1st coat. I applied 3 coats total. I didn't use a base or top coat. Here are a few pictures of the polish on me. Click to enlarge!

$3.49 at Walmart, price varies, can be found at most drugstores

3 coats, taken indoors standing next to window

3 coats, indoors, fluorescent light bulbs

Well, that's all I've got to share for today! Except, I have good news! I've become a fan of Milani Cosmetics on Facebook, and since then, I have entered 2 giveaways. I was lucky enough to win both giveaways! There were thousands of people to receive these goodies! The first one was a Terra Sole baked blush giveaway, and I have yet to receive it in the mail. When I do, expect a review & swatches! Also, I won their HD Advanced Lipcolor. It should arrive in 3 weeks. I'll let you guys know when I receive them & if they're worthy!

Have a lovely day!

My Elf Cosmetics Collection

Hello there! I thought that I would share with you all my small collection of ELF cosmetics. I first got into ELF when I was in K-Mart 3 years ago and saw a sign for ''Buy 5 products for $5!!!!" for all ELF products. I thought to myself, "man, $1 makeup quality is about as cheap as its price". But I decided to pick up a few things and see how I liked it. Now, 3 years later, ELF has become one of my favorite makeup brands ever!

With ELF products, the quality is pretty "hit and miss". Somethings are to die for, while others are cheap cheap CHEAP! But thankfully most of what I've purchased has been amazing for the price!

ELF stands for eyes, lips, face. They have an online store and products can be purchased in select stores such as Target, K-Mart, and other stores like that. I've found some ELF products in my local TJ Maxx and Ross. They have several different lines such as Essential, Studio, and Mineral lines.
***Please click on pictures to enlarge & see details!***

I have 4 of their $1 eyeshadow quads: Luxe, Butternut, Silver Lining, and Drama.

If it isn't apparent from the above picture, I really like this quad! I've hit pan in all 4 of the shadows!! I will certainly pick up another Luxe quad, and it won't hurt my wallet at all!!!! I love this quad especially in the Fall. I just think it creates a really pretty, smokey, neautral eye that is so pretty in the Fall. But I wear this quad year round. The garnet color shouldn't scare you! It is so pretty blended with the dark taupe brown. In the swatch picture, the taupe brown appears much more purple that it actually is. All of the colors contain shimmer except the taupe brown. These shadows are so silky and smooth. Out of all these quads, this is the one to get forsure!

Butternut is another great neutral quad. The 2 colors on the left are super sheer, but they are so pretty and buildable. The deep brown and bronze shades on the right are so pigmented with just 1 swipe! All of the colors are so shimmery and pretty. Very silky consistency and great for a smokey brown eye!

Out of all the quads I have, Silver Lining is my least favorite. I just think it lacks pigmentation when it goes onto my lids.  In the swatch above, it looks great, but on my eyes, I lose alot of the color. But when I do wear it, it is pretty. The #2 shade is alot darker in person. All shades are shimmery.

Drama is the perfect dramatic smokey eye quad! The name suits this quad so well. The blacks in this quad are true blacks. They are almost too intense, which I really like, especially for only $1. The silver lacks pigmentation, and the only reason I hit pan on it is because I have to really dig into it to get any color pay off. But the white, the silver black, and the matte black are all SO PIGMENTED!!! The black is really matte, but the shimmer from other colors got into it. This is another quad that I really recommend.

I have 2 of their $1 pencil eyeliners: Midnight and Coffee.

I'm not too fond of their pencil liners. They are pigmented, but do not apply smoothly. Midnight is a really pretty navy color. When I picked it up in the store, I mistakenly thought it was a black pencil. When I got it home, it was navy! But I don't regret the color because it is pretty.
Coffee is a nice, coffee brown. Nothing special about it really. I do love the pencil sharpener that comes with these pencils. I lost my other one but luckily they both came with sharpeners!

I have a $1 liquid liner, a $1 pen liner, and a $3 cream liner.

I actually really like this liquid eyeliner. It is very pigmented and won't smudge. It isn't waterproof, but it's still a great liner. I wish the tip was thinner, then it'd be even better!

I was so excited to see a $1 waterproof eyeliner pen b/c I really like the Jordana Fabuliner, but it isn't waterproof! And apparently, neither is this! I was pretty disappointed for the false label. It is a pretty liner, but not waterproof as it claims to be. Also, the tip is a little hard and wonky.

I was expecting this to be awesome since it's $3, opposed to $1. I was wrong. It wasn't creamy at all! And the color is supposed to be navy, but it's more like a smokey black shade. I will be refunding this and picking up either a blush or a brush. Or both a blush and a brush! LOL

I have 2 of their $3 face products.

I really like this powder! It is great for setting my liquid foundation and really keeps my face matte. I love the packaging of their Studio Line products. Very sleek and similar to Nars(which i don't own any of...LOL) packaging. My only complaint is that instead of giving you a hard sponge, fill the whole pan with the powder!!!! It would be 10x more efficient that way!

I LOVE this palette. The blush is so pretty! It is a nice peachy pink color that gives a warm and healthy glow to my face. The bronzer is a tad dark, but it's great for contouring your face. If you use a light hand, you can certainly apply it all over for a nice tan glow. I will totally repurchase this when I run out!

I have 1 of their $1 lipglosses.

The super glossy lip shines RULE! I love how this feels on my lips & it has SPF 15! How awesome?? Candelight is a super pretty peachy pinky creamy color. It is so pretty for the summer time and the smell/taste is pleasantly fruity.

I have some of their awesome tools.

This $1 eyelash curler is so great! It really curls my lashes and fits my lashes so well. I need to buy a new one though b/c the pads(it came with 2) have worn down alot.

I love this $1 eyeshadow brush. It really picks up shadows well. It is simple and I like it. I'll probably pick up another one just because it is so nice and I won't have to wash it over and over again.

I  just purchased this brush a few days ago and have only used it once. I have wanted it FOREVER b/c so many people have raved about this in their blogs and videos. I love it! So far I've only used it to apply blush and buff on some bronzer, but it worked so well! I'm SO excited to try it with my Rimmel Lasting Finish liquid foundation. That's right. You can use this brush with wet and dry products. I've heard that you can stipple on your foundation for a flawless finish, and I'm so excited to test that out! This is the most multi-use brush I own. It is so soft and for only $3, you can't go wrong with it. GET THIS BRUSH!

Well, I hope you enjoyed peeking at my ELF collection! I cannot wait to build this collection up some more! I already plan to purchase a few more brushes from the Studio Line, and some of their studio blushes. I also want some more super glossy lip shines!

Hope you have a lovely summery day! =D
