Latest Target Haul!

Hello there! I have recently been spending money that I don't have left and right. I buy things on impulse too often. It's a real problem. But I was in Target about a week ago, and picked up a lot of basic products that I was running out of. All of these products I bought were things I really wanted to try, and had not previously owned (with the exception of the  mascara and concealer pen). Let's jump into the haul!

Garnier Moisture Rescue Gel Cream
Olay Wet Cleansing Cloths

I was running out of my current daily moisturizer (Aveeno Ultra Calming), and I was kind of tired of my Pond's Dry Skin cream that I use every night. I saw this Garnier Gel Cream, and I was intrigued. I've been using it day and night the last few days, and I really enjoy this! The gel is super refreshing, and it smells amazing!

The Olay wipes are pretty good at removing make up and making my face feel clean. My only complaint is that this stings my eye pretty badly. I don't go around touching my bare eyeball with these. But the moisture burns my eyes somehow. I don't like that very much.

Sinful Colors 24/7
Revlon Colorstay top coat

I've been wanting to pick both of these up, and finally did it! 24/7 is a bright hot neon pink. I have it on my toes and love it! The top coat is fantastic! It really makes my nails shine, and the polish lasts longer. Also, the brush is really interesting because it has two brushes as you can see in the picture. Makes application easier.

Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Concealer in Nude
Maybelline Master Precise liner
Maybelline Sunbaked Neutrals palette

If it isn't apparent, I really like Maybelline products. It's one of my most bought brands. It isn't my favorite brand, but definitely a go-to for certain things like liners and face products. I had already owned the concealer in Buff. I couldn't find that shade, and sadly Nude isn't quite for me. Good product for the under eye area though. I can't find the Line Stiletto liquid liner anymore so I'm assuming it is being discontinued, but this liner pen works even better! Very easy to use and very opaque. I've been wanting this Sunbaked Neutrals palette for a while and decided to get it for travel. Great pigmentation, and fabulous for everyday wear.

Revlon PhotoReady concealer in 002 Light
Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme foundation in 200 Sand Beige
Revlon PhotoReady Perfecting primer

I love Revlon lip and nail products, and I have always wanted to give they're face products a try. So far, I am incredibly pleased with the quality of these. Revlon truly is the high-end of the drugstore world. The concealer only came in two shades, and this one was the closest to me. I like it for covering redness, but it doesn't cover blemishes very well. I have been dying to try this Whipped foundation. I was worried I wouldn't choose the correct shade for my skin, but miraculously chose the perfect shade for me! I love how this applies and it truly STAYS all day! Even without the primer. Speaking of primer, I had never used a primer in my life, but thought this would be good for really long days. I really like it so far! Does a good job of extending my foundation's wear, which already wears long on its own.

(From left to right, clockwise)
ELF Studio Blush in Pink Passion
Elf Studio Blush in Tickled Pink
Elf Studio Blush in Mellow Mauve
Elf Studio Brow Kit in Medium

I REALLY love these four products! The blushes are fantastic quality, and I adore the packaging. Tickled Pink is my perfect everyday color. Pink Passion is a tad bit chalky, but look how bright it is! The brow kit is decent. I used to never do my brows, but now I like to define them a bit. I think if they had a dark kit, that would suit me better. But this does a nice job of defining my brows.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my latest Target haul! I am very pleased with all of these products.

Summer Trend: Tribal/Aztec Nails!

My tribal Aztec nails!

Hello there! It is now July, and the southern heat is so unforgiving right now. So what better way to stay out of the heat than to spend the afternoon doing your nails?? ;)

I found a picture of some Aztec tribal nails on Pinterest. Actually, I found several different designs, but this one seemed to be the most simple to recreate. Here's the picture I used as reference for my own nails:

These are not my nails, and this isn't my design, I found this through Pinterest!

I absolutely love this design! It is just so pretty. The original design used red and light blue. I decided to use a coral orange and Tiffany aqua blue. Also, you'll notice that the original person had much shorter nails than me. I can't believe how they managed to do all of that detail on such short nails. But it looks really pretty on the short nails. My nails are far from long, but I felt like I had enough room to work on my length of nails.

Here are some more views of my nails. I'll list the products I used at the end of this post!

Sinful Colors "Hazard"

Color Club "New Bohemian"

It looks like it would be really hard to do, but it really wasn't! I didn't photograph my right hand because that one didn't turn out nearly as well as my left. Which shouldn't be a surprise for anyone unless you are ambidextrous. If you are....I severely envy you! The trick to achieving these nails is to have patience. Do everything in layers, and do one nail at a time. A tip for creating stripes that go across your nail, rest your hand on a table, and rotate the hand you are working on. Don't draw the line, let the brush draw it for you as you rotate your hand! Another tip, use your resources! I did use nail art stripers for the larger lines, but I also used toothpicks to create the smaller lines and dots. I used the point of the toothpicks, as well as the round end of them.

Products used: (feel free to switch up the colors!)
-Savvy FC "Sheer French White"....this took 3 coats as a base color. Kind of a lot, but that just goes along with the patience needed for nail art! lol
-Sinful Colors "Hazard"...coral/orange polish
-Color Club "New Bohemian"....aqua blue
-LA Colors Art Deco nail art stripers in black and white
-Nutra Nail Fast Dry Top coat
-Toothpicks!

I hope you enjoyed seeing my nails. You can expect to see some more fun summer nail looks in the future! This was so fun to do. Sure, it consumed two hours of my life, but I kept cool inside! ;)

Sinful Colors Hazard & Pinky Glitter

Hello there! I posted about Sinful Colors Hazard earlier, and I decided to try something different with it. I used Sinful Colors Pinky Glitter as an accent nail, then I decided to just do all of my nails with pinky glitter layered on top. Here are the two pictures:

Pinky Glitter as an accent nail

Hope you enjoyed this quick post! Sorry about the second picture. The glitter is very washed out. But I promise it looks great!!! :)

NOTD: Sinful Colors- Hazard

Hello there!

Here is a quick nail of the day featuring my current favorite summer nail polish: Sinful Colors' Hazard. I'm terrible at describing colors...so here is a list of words that make me think of Hazard:
-Mango
-Papaya
-Pinky Orange
-BRIGHT

The pictures don't really do this polish justice. I present to you, Hazard.

Bright, isn't it??

Here is Hazard paired with my new Nine West Tunnel Crossbody Mini in Papaya. I did a post on this handbag here

The application is pretty smooth and creamy. This was three coats. I could have gotten away with two coats, but I didn't three for safety!

This polish is so pretty, and truly perfect for summer! It is only $1.99 at Walgreens and other drugstores. Occasionally, Walgreens will have a 99 cents sale, so be on the look out for that. I hope you enjoyed this post! =)

China Glaze For Audrey & Sinful Colors Nail Junkie Nail Art

Hello there! I have a few pictures of some nail art I did using China Glaze's For Audrey and Sinful Colors' Nail Junkie. It isn't anything special. I just used For Audrey as a base color, and used Nail Junkie to create glitter tips.

I just free-handed the tips, and you can probably tell from the pictures. I thought the two colors looked gorgeous together! Next I want to try a glitter gradient. Those are very pretty & seem rather simple to do! Hope you enjoyed this post!

Hair & Nail Haul

Long time, no post! Today, I'm just going to share a few things I picked up today at Sally's and Walgreens. I basically just got some stuff for my hair and my nails. I swear, I have a nail polish problem. I have plenty of colors, but then I see different ones and just have to buy them!

At Sally's I picked up some hair combs that are meant to be used in the shower, or on wet hair. Both came in one pack for about $3. I think these will be helpful when distributing conditioner in my hair.

I also picked up this adorable butterfly bow hair clip. It was on clearance for $1.99. Bow are HUGE right now, so I couldn't resist!

I don't really know how else to use butterfly clips other than to put them around a ponytail or under a bun. Here is the clip on a top knot. Super cute!

Then at Walgreens I picked up 4 nail polishes. On a side note, my Walgreens had Wet n Wild items that are usually $1.99 on sale for .99 cents!! I'm pretty positive it is a month-long promotion, so stock up on the mega-last polishes while you can!!

I picked up 2 Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear polishes at 2 for $4. I got Blue Me Away and Golden-i.

Then I picked up 2 Sinful Colors polishes in Hazard and Pinky Glitter. I've had my eye on Pink Glitter for a while, so I finally got it. These were marked as .99 cents, but rang up at $1.99....but I got them anyways!

Hope you enjoyed seeing some of the things I picked up. Expect to see some swatches....eventually! =)

Glitter Nail Polish Removal Made Easy!

Question: Who doesn't love shiny, glitzy, and girly glitter nail polish?? Oooh, I know! Pick me, pick me! People that hate damaging their nails by scrubbing the life out of their them trying to scrape off every last bit of glitter.

Removing glitter polish is the biggest pain in the butt. Well, it was. I found online a few blogs that mentioned a crazy method to remove glitter polish easily. I wasn't convinced until I gave it a try myself. And boy am I happy to wear and remove glitter polish anytime I want!!

Here are the steps to remove glitter polish easily.

1)You need to have glitter nail polish on your nails that you are ready to take off! I have on Sinful Colors Nail Junkie.

2)You will need to gather some supplies. Acetone based polish remover, strips of tin foil, and 3 cotton pads.

3)Take a cotton pad and scissors. Cut the pad in half, then cut both halves in half. Was that confusing?? Do this to 2 of the 3 pads. You should have 8 triangles. Now take your 3rd pad and cut it in half. Then take just one of the halves and cut it in half. You should now have 2 triangles and one half circle. Now you have 10 triangles, one for each finger, and a half circle that you will use later! This is what you should have:

4)Work one hand at a time, or this will be difficult! It doesn't matter which hand first, just do one at a time. Soak a cotton triangle in polish remover & place it on top of your nail. Press the pad to your nail so it stays on.

5)Take a strip of tin foil and firmly wrap it around your nail.

6)Take the tip of the foil and twist it to seal off the nail from any air. This is the whole point of the tin foil. Keeping air from reaching the cotton pad will keep it moist so it can work at removing the glitter polish.

7)Leave the tin foil on for about 5 minutes, just to be sure your nail has soaked in enough. Your hands will look super funny, like some Lady Gaga costume accessory or something!

8)When you go to remove the foil, firmly twist the foil back and forth to help remove the glitter. When you take the foil off, you should see a nice, clean nail! Don't be surprised if you see a little bit of remaining glitter. That is what the half circle cotton pad is for, to clean off all of your nails to remove excess glitter!

I hope that this tin foil method will make your life a little bit easier! I found this tip on a couple of blogs, honestly don't remember where exactly. But I'm so glad I found it! Hope this was easy to follow!

Have a lovely day!

NOTD: Sinful Colors Soul Mate

Sinful Colors Soul Mate is $1.99 at Walgreens!

I have had this polish for almost a year, and this is only the 2nd time I've worn it. I thought it was so pretty in the bottle. Then I applied it to my nails, and didn't like how it looked against my skin. But now, I LOVE this shade! And the name Soul Mate is too cute.

Indoors, fluorescent lighting, 2 coats
As you can see, I have some bumps and bubbles. The application of this polish was smooth. But as it dried I guess I used my hands too much and ruined it. I don't think I can blame the formula, but my impatience with nail polish drying looks like a good suspect!

Isn't this such a pretty color? Looks perfect for the spring and summer months! I need to try this on my toes. I'm sure it'll look great! I don't think I'll be wearing this much longer with all of the bubbles and bumps. Plus my thumb chipped. I actually think all these problems are from my base/top coat. I've been using the LA Colors top/base coat. A $1 top/base coat probably isn't the best to use. I need to invest in a nice top coat like Seche Vite or something. But until then, the LA Colors will have to do!!

Hope you have a lovely day!

NOTD: Sinful Colors Nail Junkie

Sinful Colors Nail Junkie is $1.99 at Walgreens!

I have been on the search for this nail polish for quite a while! I finally managed to find it way at the back of the Sinful Colors display. It was misplaced with other shades, which explains why i haven't been able to get my hands on it! I decided to paint my nails with a glitter polish after reading about how to remove glitter polish easier. Apparently, if you soak a cotton pad with acetone polish remover, place it firmly on your finger, then apply a strip of aluminum foil to your nail and wrap it up tight for a few minutes, the glitter should come off pain free!(sorry for the incredibly drawn out run-on sentence!) It has something to do with the foil keeping the acetone pad moist, allowing it to soak the glitter up. Or something of that sort! I want to test this idea out! I hate removing glitter polish because i know i will have remaining particles of glitter stuck to my nails.
This is just 1 coat of Nail Junkie. As you can see, 1 coat is pretty sheer. This is inside my bathroom, so the lighting is exactly ideal....
Now, that's more like it!! This was with a second coat of Nail Junkie + a clear top coat. This doesn't give off the true hue of this polish. To me, this looks like glitter ocean water straight from the Caribbean!! It is a pretty turquoise, sea green polish with chunky teal & gold glitter. It is much more greenish in person. But itt is really pretty!
This is with sunlight coming in from my window. This polish is very nice after you've topped it off with a top coat. However, application felt weird to me. It is pretty goopy. It didn't have the same consistency for each of my nails. Applied to one nail, it was sheer. But the next nail was nearly opaque. It was just weird. But the end result is beautiful!

I really hope you are able to find this beauty! I think it is perfect for summertime.

Have a lovely day!
