Wet N Wild Tickled Pink & Hallucinate Nail Polish

Hello there! I have a quick NOTD to share with you! I started out with 2 coats of Wet n Wild Tickled Pink,  then added a coat of Wet n Wild Hallucinate. These are from the 99 cent Wild Shine line of nail polishes. For 99 cents, these polishes are pretty great! I have about 5 or 6 of them, and they all are awesome.

Tickled Pink was streaky on the first coat, and evened out on the second. If I wasn't going to top it with the glitter, I would have done 3 coats of the pink. This combination of bubble gum Barbie pink and iridescent glitter make my nails look like a diva snow globe! I typically wear this combination during the winter, but I was kind of tired of my typical summer blues and corals. Just kidding. I love blues and bright colors! But I did want to do something different.

Bring on the many pictures!!!

TJ Maxx Summer Fashion Haul!

Hello there! My current favorite place to shop is TJ Maxx. I had never even been in one until about a year ago. But as of right now, it is my #1 place to shop! They have such great things at great prices! I have a few clothing items I've picked up over the summer that I'd like to share with you!

Sans Souci lace shorts $16.99: The lace is tiered and can be lifted up. The legs of the shorts are scalloped. These are my only pair of lace shorts, but I love them so much! They are just so cute! You can dress them up or down. They really add more dimension to my pretty bland wardrobe. These shorts zip on the side, and they are a bit high waisted. These go with a lot of tops that I have. Like I said, these can be quite dressy or a little casual, just depends on what you pair with it! I definitely want to pick up a different pair of lace shorts, preferably in black or navy! Great item to have in your wardrobe.

Gorgeous sheer polka dot top $12.99: This top is a really simple piece. It is sheer, so you have to wear a tank or bandeau underneath. This isn't a crop top, but it is a shorter length. I love the polka dots and the cream color. I removed the tag so I couldn't tell you the material, but it is kind of a rough texture, but not uncomfortable or anything.  I love that this is sheer because it is really light and comfortable to wear in the summer heat.

Flowy top with lace knit back shoulders $12.99: I don't know the brand of this shirt because I ripped the tag off as soon as I got it home. I regret that decision. I've learned my lesson to not rip the inside tags off of clothing. I loved this top in the dressing room, but hated it when I got it home. I realized I had no bra to wear under it! lol I could wear a tank underneath, but I feel like that defeats the purpose of the gorgeous scooped back. I do love the scoop in the back, and the crochet knit detail across the shoulders. Perhaps I'll go buy a nude tank or bandeau or something. I adore the bright coral color of this top, and it is flowy. I don't like tight, form fitting clothing.

Hollister polka dot top with bow back $9.99: This is another top that I loved in the store and wasn't too crazy about when I got it home. But I decided to keep it just because I don't have anything like it. I love the bow in the back and the faded polka dots. I don't really have much to say about this top other than I think it is adorable!

Poof lace top with pocket detail $9.99: The next two tops are my absolute favorite shirts I own. This is a coral top with a sheer lace front, and a solid back. The lace continues across the shoulders on the back. The sleeves were a little too tight on me, but the more I've worn it, the looser they've gotten. This is just such a pretty top for summer. I do need to wear a tank under this, as the front is sheer. This is incredibly cute paired with my lace shorts.

Mounteau Los Angeles lace knit top with collar & zipper back detail $12.99: This is my other favorite top. I fell in love with the coral and zipper detail. It just adds such a nice pop with the knit detail. I don't own any tops like this, and I really enjoy wearing this. Of all the tops I've worn out, this one gets me the most compliments, which is nice! This is sheer, so a tank is necessary underneath. It really matches my Nine West Papya cross body handbag, which you can see right here.

That's it for my summer fashion haul. Everything pictured is from TJ Maxx. I can't guarantee you'll find these at your local store, but it's possible! :)

Quick Tip To Keep Bobby Pins From Running Away!

Hello there! We've all been there: your hands are full of your hair, gathering it into a cute bun on top of your head. You need a bobby pin, but there are none to be found despite the fact you bought a pack of thirty pins. Thirty bobby pins have grown legs and ran away. The bobby pin bandit struck again. Whatever story you choose to believe, it will always be a mystery.

I found this idea on Pinterest (this is a recurrent theme on my blog, and in my daily life....) to use a Tic Tac container as a bobby pin holder. Genius. Pure genius. I was keeping my pins in a tiny polka dot zipper pouch. But a Tic Tac container is so small, portable, and convenient. Plus, you can decorate it however you want! I kept mine clear for now.

Whoever came up with this idea, I seriously love you. It seems so obvious, but I sure had never thought to do this! So much easier to keep them all in one place, and to keep in a purse. Love it!

Summer Trend: Tribal/Aztec Nails!

My tribal Aztec nails!

Hello there! It is now July, and the southern heat is so unforgiving right now. So what better way to stay out of the heat than to spend the afternoon doing your nails?? ;)

I found a picture of some Aztec tribal nails on Pinterest. Actually, I found several different designs, but this one seemed to be the most simple to recreate. Here's the picture I used as reference for my own nails:

These are not my nails, and this isn't my design, I found this through Pinterest!

I absolutely love this design! It is just so pretty. The original design used red and light blue. I decided to use a coral orange and Tiffany aqua blue. Also, you'll notice that the original person had much shorter nails than me. I can't believe how they managed to do all of that detail on such short nails. But it looks really pretty on the short nails. My nails are far from long, but I felt like I had enough room to work on my length of nails.

Here are some more views of my nails. I'll list the products I used at the end of this post!

Sinful Colors "Hazard"

Color Club "New Bohemian"

It looks like it would be really hard to do, but it really wasn't! I didn't photograph my right hand because that one didn't turn out nearly as well as my left. Which shouldn't be a surprise for anyone unless you are ambidextrous. If you are....I severely envy you! The trick to achieving these nails is to have patience. Do everything in layers, and do one nail at a time. A tip for creating stripes that go across your nail, rest your hand on a table, and rotate the hand you are working on. Don't draw the line, let the brush draw it for you as you rotate your hand! Another tip, use your resources! I did use nail art stripers for the larger lines, but I also used toothpicks to create the smaller lines and dots. I used the point of the toothpicks, as well as the round end of them.

Products used: (feel free to switch up the colors!)
-Savvy FC "Sheer French White"....this took 3 coats as a base color. Kind of a lot, but that just goes along with the patience needed for nail art! lol
-Sinful Colors "Hazard"...coral/orange polish
-Color Club "New Bohemian"....aqua blue
-LA Colors Art Deco nail art stripers in black and white
-Nutra Nail Fast Dry Top coat
-Toothpicks!

I hope you enjoyed seeing my nails. You can expect to see some more fun summer nail looks in the future! This was so fun to do. Sure, it consumed two hours of my life, but I kept cool inside! ;)

The Summer Blues

Left to right: China Glaze For Audrey, Sally Hansen Blue Me Away, Sally Hansen Pacific Blue

Hello there! Today I want to show you my favorite blue summer nail polishes! The ones I am showing you are all cream finishes. If I were to show you glitters as well, I would have included Revlon's Blue Mosaic and Sinful Color's Nail Junkie. But this post is all about the blue creams. Please excuse the above picture, I painted my nails quickly and didn't even bother to clean them when I took the picture. Fail whale.

The first nail polish is China Glaze's For Audrey. This is a classic color that I'm sure everyone and the mother has seen. I love how bright and fun this color is. In my pictures, it appears to be much more muted and dusty than it actually is. If you are looking for an alternative polish, Wet N Wild's I Need A Refresh-mint nail polish is said to be an exact dupe. Color Club's New Bohemian from their 2011 Back To Boho collection is also a pretty similar color. This was about $6 at Sally's Beauty Supply. I used a base coat, 2 coats of For Audrey, and a fast dry top coat.

The next summer blue I have to share with you (I couldn't resist, I apologize for the lame rhyme....) is Sally Hansen's Blue Me Away. This is a very bright sky blue that is like no other polish I own. Granted, I don't own that many nail polishes, but still. This is such a pretty color for summer. I must warn you that this will stain your nails and fingers. Prepare for smurf fingers. Even when I used a base coat, there was ample staining. Because of the staining, I shy away from using this polish that often. But it truly is pretty! I'd say that it is much brighter in person. The photos I've taken don't do any of these polishes justice. This was about $2 or $3 at Walgreens. A heads up, Walgreens has a buy 2 get 1 free sale on Sally Hansen polishes for the month of July!!!!! I used a basecoat, 2 coats of Blue Me Away, and a fast dry top coat.

Lastly, here is my all time FAVORITE summer nail polish.....Sally Hansen's Pacific Blue. I'm not going to lie, I straight up hated this nail polish the first time I wore it. I thought it just looked so weird on me. But now this is my go-to nail polish this summer! It is a pretty cornflower blue that is great for fingers or toes. Really, all of these polishes would look great on fingers or toes. This didn't stain my nails at all! It applies like butter and dries at a decent pace. This is my staple summer nail polish shade! I swear the pictures don't do this justice. At only about $2, you can't go wrong picking this gem up! I used a base coat, 2 coats of Pacific Blue, and a fast dry top coat.

I hope you enjoyed this post! What are your favorite summer nail polishes? Of course I love corals and hot pinks for the summer. But I've really been digging bright blues! :)

Collective Summer Beauty Haul!

Hello there! I hope that everyone has a wonder Independence day! Thank you to all of our troops that are keeping us safe.

I have some new products to share with you that I've picked up over the last month. I have some products from Bath & Body works to share with you that I got from their awesome semi annual sale. I also have some makeup items that I am so excited to share with you! :)

I spent $14.71 on the 6 products I bought at B&BW. If it weren't for the huge semi annual sale, my total would have been $54!!!! That is quite the bargain, and I wish I would have picked up many more things!

All of my B&BW goodies!

Into The Wild body lotion
$2.94 on sale
$11 original price
This lotion smells like summer to me! It is very citrus-y and slightly floral. I really love the label, it's just so pretty!

Paris Amour shower gel
$3 on sale
$11 original price
When I first smelled this in the store, I said "Oh my gosh, that's amazing!" and some girls picked it up and said the same thing. It is just a refreshing, floral smell.

Forever Sunshine fine fragrance mist
$3.50 on sale
$14 original price
This is seriously the way I'd imagine summer to smell. It is pretty light, but incredibly sweet! I'm terrible at describing scents...but really love this!

Just a closer look at the label

Triple moisture body creams in Country Chic, Paris Amour, and Japanese Cherry Blossom
$1.50 each on sale
$6 each original price
I picked these up to give away to friends or family, but I'm keeping Country Chic! It is a nice, fresh floral smell. I like how small the tube is, great to keep in my bag. Very moisturizing! Paris Amour smells just like the body wash, and Japanese Cherry Blossom is a signature scent of B&BW.

Now it is time to show you the makeup products I've picked up recently. A brand new Sephora opened at the mall in my city. This is HUGE! I have never seen or been in a store like Sephora ever in my life! I went a little nuts...lol.

Urban Decay Naked 2 palette
$50 at Sephora

Inside the palette and all of its goodness

-Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette $50 at Sephora
