Latest Target Haul!

Hello there! I have recently been spending money that I don't have left and right. I buy things on impulse too often. It's a real problem. But I was in Target about a week ago, and picked up a lot of basic products that I was running out of. All of these products I bought were things I really wanted to try, and had not previously owned (with the exception of the  mascara and concealer pen). Let's jump into the haul!

Garnier Moisture Rescue Gel Cream
Olay Wet Cleansing Cloths

I was running out of my current daily moisturizer (Aveeno Ultra Calming), and I was kind of tired of my Pond's Dry Skin cream that I use every night. I saw this Garnier Gel Cream, and I was intrigued. I've been using it day and night the last few days, and I really enjoy this! The gel is super refreshing, and it smells amazing!

The Olay wipes are pretty good at removing make up and making my face feel clean. My only complaint is that this stings my eye pretty badly. I don't go around touching my bare eyeball with these. But the moisture burns my eyes somehow. I don't like that very much.

Sinful Colors 24/7
Revlon Colorstay top coat

I've been wanting to pick both of these up, and finally did it! 24/7 is a bright hot neon pink. I have it on my toes and love it! The top coat is fantastic! It really makes my nails shine, and the polish lasts longer. Also, the brush is really interesting because it has two brushes as you can see in the picture. Makes application easier.

Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Concealer in Nude
Maybelline Master Precise liner
Maybelline Sunbaked Neutrals palette

If it isn't apparent, I really like Maybelline products. It's one of my most bought brands. It isn't my favorite brand, but definitely a go-to for certain things like liners and face products. I had already owned the concealer in Buff. I couldn't find that shade, and sadly Nude isn't quite for me. Good product for the under eye area though. I can't find the Line Stiletto liquid liner anymore so I'm assuming it is being discontinued, but this liner pen works even better! Very easy to use and very opaque. I've been wanting this Sunbaked Neutrals palette for a while and decided to get it for travel. Great pigmentation, and fabulous for everyday wear.

Revlon PhotoReady concealer in 002 Light
Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme foundation in 200 Sand Beige
Revlon PhotoReady Perfecting primer

I love Revlon lip and nail products, and I have always wanted to give they're face products a try. So far, I am incredibly pleased with the quality of these. Revlon truly is the high-end of the drugstore world. The concealer only came in two shades, and this one was the closest to me. I like it for covering redness, but it doesn't cover blemishes very well. I have been dying to try this Whipped foundation. I was worried I wouldn't choose the correct shade for my skin, but miraculously chose the perfect shade for me! I love how this applies and it truly STAYS all day! Even without the primer. Speaking of primer, I had never used a primer in my life, but thought this would be good for really long days. I really like it so far! Does a good job of extending my foundation's wear, which already wears long on its own.

(From left to right, clockwise)
ELF Studio Blush in Pink Passion
Elf Studio Blush in Tickled Pink
Elf Studio Blush in Mellow Mauve
Elf Studio Brow Kit in Medium

I REALLY love these four products! The blushes are fantastic quality, and I adore the packaging. Tickled Pink is my perfect everyday color. Pink Passion is a tad bit chalky, but look how bright it is! The brow kit is decent. I used to never do my brows, but now I like to define them a bit. I think if they had a dark kit, that would suit me better. But this does a nice job of defining my brows.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my latest Target haul! I am very pleased with all of these products.

Pretty Peacock Eyeliner Two Ways: A Tutorial

Hello there! I have been addicted to Pinterest lately, and I came across a beautiful picture, which I'll share at the end of this post. I wanted to recreate the look for my brown eyes. After doing it similar to the picture, I decided to put the color on my upper lash line instead. So here are my two different peacock eyeliner looks! I'll have a list of products used below the pictures!! Make sure you click on the pictures to get a better look at them!

Lower Lash Line Peacock Liner:
This is a subtly dramatic look that is good for a night out.
-Maybelline Color Tattoo in Too Cool as overall base.
-Mac Painterly Paint Pot as base for lower lash line.
-Sweep shimmery bronze shade all over lid and crease area.
-Take purple, blue, and green liner to line bottom lash line. This will be a base for the eyeshadow. I used a Turquoise and Amethyst liner.
- Pat coordinating eyeshadow on top of the liner. Start with the purple, then work your way from blue to green. This makes blending much easier.
-Apply shimmery champagne shade to inner corner & brow.
-Line upper lash line, I used a liquid liner & line lower water line, I used a pencil.
-Also, I think it would look better if you tight lined your upper water line. I didn't do this, but I think it would have looked better.
-Curl lashes & apply mascara!

Upper Lash Line Peacock Liner:
This is a more wearable colorful look.
-Apply base all over lid, I used Maybelline Color Tattoo in Too Cool.
-Again, use the colored pencil liners as a base for the eyeshadows, this time on the upper lash line.
-Dampen a thin liner brush in water and squeeze excess water from the brush.
-Start with purple eyeshadow, then blue and green. Make sure to pat it on, don't sweep it. Gently blend.
-Sweep a bronze shade all over lid and crease, avoiding the liner.
-Apply shimmery champagne shade to inner corner & brow.
-Line as close to your lashes as you can with a black gel liner.
-Line lower water line with black pencil & lower lash line with a bronze pencil.
-Again, I think it would have looked better if it tight lined my upper water line.
-Curl lashes & apply mascara!

Inspiration For This Look:

Products Used:
Elf Little Black Beauty Book Vol.1
L'oreal Hip Duo in Showy

Wet n Wild Color Icon pencils in Bronze, Amethyst, and Turquoise
Maybelline Master Drama eyeliner in Onyx

Please have a lovely day!!!

ELF Angled Eyeliner Brush

Hello there! I am terrible when it comes to lining my eyes. When it comes to lining my upper lash line I make such a mess, and I get impatient with my clumsy hands. Liquid liner looks great, but I just can't use it unless it's in a felt tip pen. I don't like pencil liner on my lids because it gets too smudgy. The perfect formula for my eyes is gel or cream eyeliner. It lasts through heat, glides on my lids easily, and is just overall easier for me to apply. What makes applying gel liner easier is the brush that you choose. I've always used my EcoTools bamboo angles brush. But for some reason, it went all wonky on me! Some of the bristles strayed out of line, so I tried to cut them off, but failed. The brush is still functional, but not as nice as it was. I plan to pick a new one up soon. Until then, I decided to give the Elf Angled eyeliner brush a try. Here's what it looks like:

I feel like the amount of brush from the bend is slightly shorter on this brush than other bent angled brushes I've seen. But for the most part, I feel like I can really control how I line my eyes with this brush. With my EcoTools, I felt like I wasn't controlling the precision of my line as well as the Elf brush. I feel like the Elf brush takes a bit longer to line with, but you get a very precise line.

Here is what my EcoTools brush currently looks like:

You can see the short, chopped off bristles on the top of the brush. I will be repurchasing another one of these brushes for lining my eyes, and I'll use this brush for filling in my eyebrows.

Here are what the brush strokes look like from the brushes:

Physicians Formula Gel Liner Trio for Brown Eyes- Espresso Brown
Left: 2 lines using Elf brush
Right: 1 line using EcoTools brush

As you can see, the Elf brush leaves a less concentrated line, so it's best to go back over it either with more liner, or an eye shadow. Which, I always top my eyeliner with eye shadow anyways to give a less shiny look. The EcoTools brush leaves a wide, messy line.

The gel eyeliner I'm currently using is the Physician's Formula Gel Liner Trio for Brown eyes. It comes with an espresso brown, eggplant purple, and a black with purple glitter. I'm considering purchasing the Maybelline Eye Studio gel liner because I've heard it's comparable to Bobby Brown or Mac eyeliner.

ELF Little Black Beauty Book

Hello, lovelies! I have a bunch of swatches to share with you! I purchased the Elf Little Black Beauty Book Volume I from Target a few months ago. It's originally $5, but I got it for $3...that's a steal! When I bought this, I knew it was risky. Elf products are either really amazing, or incredibly cheap. Luckily, this baby is quite amazing!

It comes in a leather case, that opens up to reveal 48 gorgeous eyeshadows. My case doesn't fully snap shut, which is a concern for when I travel....but it has held up pretty well so far. The shadows are about the size of a thumb nail, maybe a bit larger.(depending on the thumb!!) This palette is primarily neutral colors with a few vibrant and bright colors. The pigmentation is pretty wonderful. There are different finishes: some are shimmery, satin, matte, and metallic. There are 2 shadows that have actually glitter in them, but it isn't a bothersome kind of glitter, just very sparkly!

Now, bring on the swatches! I hope you can follow this...I swatched each row going down the palette. There are 12 pictures with 4 shadows in each. Click on the pictures to get a closer look! Please note, I did not use any sort of primer...these shadows are that pigmented!

row 1: golden yellow, light bronze, light sand, glittery sand

row 2: light taupe, deep grey sand, cream, bronze brown

row 3: orange, taupe, burnt orange, deep brown

row 4: light orange, bronze, sandy cream, bronze brown

row 5: coppery red, red, light grey, dark charcoal

row 6: white golden shimmer, light taupe, pink, dark berry shimmer

row 7: brown, emerald green, sage green, sandy nude

row 8: light green, turquoise, dark green, greenish brown

row 9: chocolate brown, goldish green, copper, puke green(ew)

row 10: shimmery orange, peach, coral, dark brown

row 11: brown, sandy grey, taupe, cream

row 12: bronze, purple, blue, gold

Hope you enjoyed the swatches! I don't think you'd regret picking this up! Anytime I travel somewhere, I throw this in my makeup bag, and no other shadows. This has all of the eye shadows I'd need.

EOTD: Tropical Sunset Smoothie Eyes

Hello there! I was inspired to do an eye look that juicystar07 did on her youtube channel. She was inspired by some European picture, and she inspired me! LOL This is a pretty colorful look, but I toned it down a bit so it is pretty wearable. You could wear this to a party, dinner, or just anytime you want! The eyeshadow look is very similar to my Summer Sunflower Eyes ETOD. It was pretty simple to do, and I used all drugstore products. So, I'm just going to jump right into it! =)
*** Click images to enlarge for better detail!!!!!!***

Step 1:
Apply a shimmery base all over your lids & crease. I used the Wet N Wild Idol Eyes Cream Pencil in Pixi.

Step 2:
Take a light shimmery gold shade and dust it over the inner part of your lid.

Step 3:
Take a yellow shadow and place it halfway on your lid.

Step 4:
Apply an orange color on the outer half of your lid. Also, take a hot pink color to the outer corner of your crease/lid. In the pictures, the hot pink doesn't show up so great. You can intensify the pink if you wish, but I toned down the pink. Make sure you've been blending all the colors together along the way, but not blending too much. That would make the colors look too muddy.

Step 5:
Take a purple eyeliner pencil as a base for the gel liner. This will help intensify the purple liner. Use a purple/eggplant/lavender color gel eyeliner and line your upper lash line. I used the Physician's Formula Gel Liner for Brown Eyes, and I used the purple shade. I extended the line past my lid, but I did not wing it. Then top off the liner with a purple eyeshadow.

Step 6:
Take a turquoise eyeliner and apply it to your lower lashline and waterline. I used the Wet N Wild Color Icon Turquoise pencil.

Step 7:
Then take a navy eyeliner and top the turquoise liner with it. I used the Elf Midnight Pencil. This will make a nice blue color. I didn't like the turquoise by itself, or the navy by itself. So I combined them!

Step 8:
Now, just curl your lashes & apply mascara! I first used the Rimmel Max Volume Flash Mascara on my upper lashes. Then I took the Estee Lauder Double Wear Zero Smudge mascara and applied to my top and bottom lashes.

Now you're finished! Here's a bunch of pictures of my Tropical Sunset Smoothie Eyes! Click on the pictures to enlarge them! =)

Here are the products that I used to create this look!
Color Workshop Palette(pink, gold, and orange shadow), Revlon Sunrise Sunset Quad(purple & yellow shadow), L.A. Colors Trendy Palette(yellow shadow), Rimmel Max Volume Flash Mascara, Estee Lauder Double Wear sample mascara, Revlon lash curler, Physician's Formula Gel Liner for Brown eyes(purple shade), Wet N Wild Color Icon pencils in Amethyst and Turquoise, Elf Eyeliner in Midnight, and Wet N Wild Idol Eyes Cream Pencil in Pixi.

I hope you enjoyed this look! Feel free to tweek it, tone it down, intensify it, or do whatever you want! I hope you all have a lovely day!

=)

My Makeup Collection: Face

Hello there! I thought that I'd share my tiny makeup collection with you all! I feel like I have an essential amount of makeup, but I'd love to add to it! I'm going to do separate posts for each category: Face, Eyes, Lips, and Brushes. Keep in mind, I've owned previous products, this is just what I have at the moment! I will sort of do a mini review of each product. So, let's do this!!! Don't forget to click on images to enlarge them & see details! =)

Foundation, Concealer, & Powder:

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation in 103 True Ivory. This the only liquid foundation I've ever used in my life! I've always used powders until this baby came into my life! I love it because it is perfect for my dry skin. I love that it has minerals in it. It blends nicely into my skin. The color I have is slightly off, but I can work with it. This foundation really does last all day for me! I also love the cheap price tag of only about $6 at Walmart!
Maybelline Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Powder Foundation in Natural Ivory Light 3. This is my second container of this product. I really enjoy it! However, the color I have now is so orange on me, and it's summertime! I'm going to have to go back to the first shade I purchased, which I think is one shade lighter than this one. I like this product because it provides great coverage, is fast to apply, and I love minerals!

Maybelline Dream Mousse Concealer in Ivory Light 2-3.5. This is the only concealer I've ever owned! If you can't tell, I'm not very big on face products. hehe. I love the mousse texture of this product, and how well it covers under eye problems. But this shade is far too light for my skin. Also, I'm pretty positive this product is being discontinued, so I need to find a new concealer!

Rimel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in 001 Transparent. I bought this powder to set my liquid foudation, and I think it does a pretty good job. It claims to minimize the appearance of pores, and I think it actually does. A few things that might turn you away from this product: powdery scent & cheap packaging.

Elf Translucent Mattifying Powder. This is a much better setting powder than the Rimmel Stay Matte. I already reviewed this in my ELF Collection post. But I highly recommend this powder. I just wish that the whole pan was full of powder. The sponge is pretty pointless.

Blush & Bronzer:

Milani Baked Blush in 04 Terra Sole. I actually received this blush from a giveaway I entered on the Milani Facebook fan page. The first 25,000 that entered all won a free full sized sample of this blush. I'll be doing a full review on this blush in the next few days. The blush houses a mirror and brush underneath the actual product. This blush is very powdery when you dip your brush in, but it is so pigmented and blends well. The color is a little too dark for me, but I find ways to wear it.

NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in 720A Sunny. This is a nice matte bronzer that won't hurt your wallet. I like the cute sun pattern embedded in the bronzer, but the compact is so cheap and could break easily during travel. This color is a tad too orange for my skin, but it still gives a nice sun-kissed look.

Covergirl Cheekers Blush in Rock N' Rose. This is a nice rosey blush that I love to wear in the colder months. It is pretty sheer, but I like that I can build this color up if I want. It isn't quite as shimmery as it looks in the picture. It has a pretty strong perfume scent to it, so if that bothers you, don't get it!

NYC Blushable Creme Stick in 644U Plaza Pink. This is a great cream blush for the summertime. It is in a twist up stick form, like a jumbo lip balm. You get a decent amount of product, and a little seriously goes a long way! It is so creamy and blends out so nicely! The color is a nice peachy pink shade.

Hard Candy Fox In a Box Blush in Hot Flash. As soon as I saw these in my Walmart, I had to get one! I kind of wish I had picked out a different, less pigmented one! As you can see, this blush is bright! The 2 muted colors help to tone down the bright hot pink colors, but it is still so flashy on my cheeks. I think I'll pick up another one of these blushes, but a more natural one!!

Elf Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder in Blushed/Bronzed. I already reviewed this product in my Elf Collection post. But this is a great product to own, and it's only $3! The blush is a pretty peachy, pink color, reminds me of the NYC Creme Stick in Plaza Pink. The bronzer is a deep bronzy brown. Both have shimmer in them, but it's not crazy shimmery.

Clinique Soft-Pressed Powder Blusher in Pink Blush & True Bronze Pressed Powder Bronzer in Sunkissed. This came as a sample with a gift of purchase. The blush is pretty sheer and hardly shows up. It gives a nice, sheer glow to the face. I really like the bronzer side. It gives a nice, tan glow to my face.

That's all the face cosmetics I own currently! I hope you liked this post and maybe found it helpful in some way! =)
